January 27, 2016

It’s one of those days… you’re tired, braindead, the sole of your shoe is just flapping around, or as Brandon says my shoe “…just wants to OM nom nom”, you lip wound keeps getting opened and you just want to leave but you can’t (I’m waiting for my Dad to pick me up).

It’s also a dreary day outside which is probably contributing to the overall day.

YES just got my 15min message from my Dad.

I will tackle tomorrow with more gusto, but today I will deflate and probably fall asleep somewhere.

We’re also giving Holly her camera today! That’ll wake me up a bit.

Our Little (Re)Treat

The sun is slowly making my shade disappear, I can feel my half my body burning under my clothes =(, so I’m going to make this quick!

Not long till our anniversary trip =), we’ve sorted most of the itinerary and even found a place to have our anniversary dinner, yay! We’re super excited, especially since our accomodation for two nights (1 in Merimbula and the other at Batemans Bay) is only $162.50! Which is an awesome price seeing as most other accommodation would have totalled $300, more money to spend on food yay!

There’s still a few more things to tweak, but so far we’re hitting at least:
–  6 Oyster Farms
– 4 Wineries
– 3 Cheese Centres/Factories
– 1 Two Hatted Resturant
– 1 Zoo
and hopefully 1 National Park

As you can see, being able to save on accommodation will make such a difference. Can’t wait to let you know how it all goes and if we’re able to hit all those places and still have fun.

I’ll leave you with this picture of me trying to fit my keyboard in this perfectly sized bag, alas the zipper was the downfall. So I’m still on the hunt.

Look at that perfect snug fit!

Why Zipper, why =(

I’m also working on a project with the help of my Dad that I can’t wait to share. It’s Brandon’s anniversary present, which I hope he’ll love =). I’ve been taking photos of it so I can show the progress when I blog about it, but because Brandon reads my blog, albit only occasionally, I can’t risk him finding out the design =P, so you will all need to wait like him.

Keeping It Up

I got really sad, disappointed, frustrated and annoyed today. Went to the Post Office to return the thermostat only to find out that shipping was $13.35, the thermostat cost $15.06… =.=”””. So yes I returned it anyway to get that $1.71 back, I was just at a point of ‘argh can’t think, just do what I came here to do’. A smarter person would have kept it, but I was already there so a lessoned learned, BE SMARTER! It better not get lost in the mail because then I’d make a $28.41 loss instead of just a $13.35 loss.

I think I was more disappointed by the fact that I missed out on Fit Gap, which is this 5-6 minute pushup session we have as group to get us away from our desks and be a little more fit. I got back just as everyone was leaving, so I stayed behind and did my pushups anyway. I didn’t want to lose my 7 for 7 streak, it made me feel a little better, but I feel like I didn’t push myself as much as I do when I’m in a group. This week we’re doing 16 slow pushups, a 3 minute rest and then 20 quick push ups, we’re slowly making our way back to to 20 slow pushups, a 3 minute rest and then 50 quick pushups.

Our anniversary is coming up, we’ll be celebrating 5 YEARS together! It feels like ages, I hope we’re both able to get leave and go away on a short trip and EAT SOME OYSTERS! =)

Oop it’s our stop.

Till next time,
Helen ♥

A Year of Saving

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic time, we spent the eve of the new year and midnight with my family watching the fireworks in the city and then the next day with Brandon’s family. It’s been a while since I’ve spent New Year’s Eve with family, usually I spend Christmas with family and then spend New Year’s Eve with friends, so it was a nice change =). Plus it’s been years since I spent New Year’s Eve in the city, the last time I was 18 and with friends. It was packed and all of us was groped, so it wasn’t the most pleasant experience.

This year we were at Bradley’s Head near the Mast Head, it was ticketed, so it wasn’t too crowded and we had an amazing view, which was all thanks to the parents! If you were following my instagram, you would’ve seen the amazing shots! I’ll have to do an update post of my favourite photos from last year, as usual I’m behind on my editing =(, BUT I did recover those photos I deleted last year, not in RAW format unfortunately, only JPEG, but it’s better than nothing.

I just picked up the Logitech Keys-To-Go Ultra-Portable Keyboard today which I’m hoping will force me to blog more as we paid over $60 for it and we’re on a budget (I’m so lucky!). I’m actually blogging on it now, it’s really good so far, I just wish there was a shortcut for notifications to be shown.
I’ll update more as I keep using it, but YES! I can now easily blog instead of swiping on screen on my phone =).

Logitech Keys-To-Go, if my phone's there, who's taking the picture? =O

I’m just blogging things as it comes to my mind at the moment, so much was happening during my break, especially om Christmas, that was crazy busy. We went to Brandon’s parents’ to meet up and then his Aunt’s for lunch, dropped by his other Aunt’s and finally ended up a Phillip’s place where had a late dinner and played/watched Until Dawn, I am not ashamed to admit my eyes found more exciting things to look at during the super suspenseful moments. We also watched Star Wars in IMAX, the world’s biggest screen, it was pretty intense. Actually we’ve seen a lot of movies recently, Spectre, Creed and Point Break. Creed and Star Wars were probably the best ones, a good balance of emotion, story and action.

We’ve finally implemented our budget this year, we have our spreadsheet updated with all our expected expenses and Money Lover set up to track what we’re actually spending with our budget parameters set in the app to make sure we don’t go over, here’s to a year of saving and eating in!

I feel like I’m typing way too much now, so till next time friends!

P.S. Yes that’s the boyfriend in the background playing Just Cause 3 whilst I blog away =P.

Christmas Cheer

I’m not going count last week as a failure, but a minor set back. I meant to blog on Sunday but we were super busy. We had an awesome Christmas Dinner at William Blue Dining and then had an early Christmas Lunch with Brandon’s family because his sister won’t be in the country for Christmas or New Years =(.

We’re having dinner lunch again at Brandon’s parents because he really wanted burgers so we’ll see how blogging goes.

SADIA’S PRE-WEDDING IS SATURDAY WAHHHHH. I can’t wait, I’ve never performed at a wedding before, so this will be exciting ^^.

Currently waiting for Brandon at work because he picked up our new car today!!!!!!!

Till next time,
Helen ♥

P.S. I don’t know why the photo is red =(.

Bend over

I can’t T.T, I’ve some how hurt my back. I was completely fine on Sunday, running around, doing the usual and come Monday morning, bam! Shoulders and back were stiff, with occasional sharp bursts of pain. I took the day off and went to see my chiro, which helped immensely! I’m so glad I have a chiro, especially with an office job.

Also we’re back! We’ve actually been back a while but we’ve been so busy!
Some quick favourites from Japan,
1. Sushi – Sushi Dai

  1. Curry – New Daruni

  1. Ramen – Kyoto-Gogyo

I’ve decided to dedicate an hour a week to blogging starting this Sunday! I’ll try to do it in the morning when I’m bright eyed, Brandon will probably be happy because it means I won’t be constantly asking if he’s awake and nudging him if he doesn’t respond hehe.
