So Close!

Tripit and the counter top the right → (if you’re reading this on the desktop version) is telling me there’s only 2 MONTHS TO GO TILL MY TRIP!!!!

I’m so excited!!! We’ve pretty much got everything planned, train times, JR Pass accommodation and the Ghibli museummmmmmm! Speaking of the JR Pass, we managed to get a great deal and saved $50. We were pretty lucky though cause the prices changed the next day. The only worrying thing about this trip is the exchange rate. AUD is tanking hard =(. But who knows what 2 more months might do.

We’re visiting all the theme parks, Disneyland, DisneySea, Universal Studios and Ocean Park (in Hong Kong).

I cannot wait for the food! It’s making me hungry already haha.

Speaking of food I still need to blog about our little dinner!

Till next time,
Helen ♥

And I’m back!

Came back from Singapore on Tuesday but before we get into that drum roll

Fratelli Fresh - Cafe Sopra

Finally went to Fratelli Fresh/Cafe Sopra Bridge Street to eat, I’ve been wanting to go since Davy tried to get us in on a busy Friday night. They only had bar seats on this cold Tuesday night (last week), which turned out to be awesome (we got to see the desserts being made). We ordered our drinks, Brandon a coke and me with a berry mocktail they whipped up.

Then it was on to the food, I got the Gnocchi.

Yummy Gnocchi

And Brandon the Chicken Schnitzel.

Olives (of course) and Schnitzel

In hindsight he probably should have ordered some type of pasta. The gnocchi was pretty good, it was my first haha. The schnitzel was average though, I think it would’ve tasted better it was melted cheese rather than parmesan, but each to their own.

The highlight of the night though was definitely dessert. After seeing on all these delicious desserts being made we had to get one! The one that really caught my eye had a dark toffee/chocolate like base which was then covered with fresh cream, a layer of bananas and then another layer of fresh cream and a sprinkle of chocolate flakes.

We had no idea which dessert it was, so we asked a waitress if we could get it, and discovered is was the banoffee (there was a slight fear there was coffee in it XD). We patiently waited for it while watching all the other banoffees being made for other patrons. I was super excited… and then… it arrived!

Delicious Banoffee

That first taste, oh wow! Brandon loved it and he’s not a fan of desserts so that’s really saying something.
What really made the whole meal special was being able to see the dessert chef work. We thanked him before we left =) and then off to Vivid we went!

Farewell Philippines! Hello Hong Kong!

Ok not in Hong Kong yet, but soon!
Currently sitting on the floor charging my phone for the next leg of our journey =P.

Haha so I wrote the above 7 weeks ago, Thursday, 6th February when we were at the Cebu airport. Little did I know we wouldn’t make it to Hong Kong that night. Brandon’s sinsues blocked up on our descent into Manila for our connecting flight to Hong Kong and we split up from the group so he could recover. We flew in the next night fully prepared with a nasal spray, decongestion tablets, strepsils, tissues, VapoRub and gum, luckily we made it with no pain =).

I’ve been very busy since getting back, trying to stay fit, study, work, catch up so I haven’t had much time to blog or post the photos I was editing on my phone. I’ve edited and uploaded all my backdated photos which is a win so far =). I’ll leave this post with some photos from Philippines and a promise to blog again soon!

Coalcliff was pretty awesome,
hahaha but most of the time we had no reception and no internet, but we still managed to download Walking Dead and watch it.

Most nights there was drinking,
the breakfasts were awesome
and the Dinners were even better.
Though we usually didn’t have lunch or we snacked.

I came back up towards Sydney three times,
once for Aaron’s party, the second time for Luke’s party
and the third time to get Australia famous fish and chips =D.

Spent Valentine’s Day in semi-rain at Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk.
We got there and it was pouring, but we decided to do it anyway,
good thing we did, cause it cleared up heaps once we got out to the walk.

AND silliest thing ever, Smitty got sunburnt pretty much on the second day.
There are two photos of him sitting outside without sunscreen in the slideshow of him still white XD.
Silly Nathan XD.

Now photos for you all to enjoy,
Helen ♥

In bed before 12 whoooaaa, can’t remember the last time that happened XD.
This winter is pretty cold, and I’m glad I can keep warm by cuddling you =).

The last few days were amazing, and you really appreciate the difference from space and support make to a lot of things =]P.

Games day on sunday, I can’t wait, only thing is I don’t know what to tell people to bring when they ask me, cause I have no idea what other people are bringing.
Let’s hope there isn’t an excess in anything.

Can’t wait to see everyone again =D,
Helen ♥
