A Year of Saving

Happy New Year Everyone!!!
I hope everyone had a fantastic time, we spent the eve of the new year and midnight with my family watching the fireworks in the city and then the next day with Brandon’s family. It’s been a while since I’ve spent New Year’s Eve with family, usually I spend Christmas with family and then spend New Year’s Eve with friends, so it was a nice change =). Plus it’s been years since I spent New Year’s Eve in the city, the last time I was 18 and with friends. It was packed and all of us was groped, so it wasn’t the most pleasant experience.

This year we were at Bradley’s Head near the Mast Head, it was ticketed, so it wasn’t too crowded and we had an amazing view, which was all thanks to the parents! If you were following my instagram, you would’ve seen the amazing shots! I’ll have to do an update post of my favourite photos from last year, as usual I’m behind on my editing =(, BUT I did recover those photos I deleted last year, not in RAW format unfortunately, only JPEG, but it’s better than nothing.

I just picked up the Logitech Keys-To-Go Ultra-Portable Keyboard today which I’m hoping will force me to blog more as we paid over $60 for it and we’re on a budget (I’m so lucky!). I’m actually blogging on it now, it’s really good so far, I just wish there was a shortcut for notifications to be shown.
I’ll update more as I keep using it, but YES! I can now easily blog instead of swiping on screen on my phone =).

Logitech Keys-To-Go, if my phone's there, who's taking the picture? =O

I’m just blogging things as it comes to my mind at the moment, so much was happening during my break, especially om Christmas, that was crazy busy. We went to Brandon’s parents’ to meet up and then his Aunt’s for lunch, dropped by his other Aunt’s and finally ended up a Phillip’s place where had a late dinner and played/watched Until Dawn, I am not ashamed to admit my eyes found more exciting things to look at during the super suspenseful moments. We also watched Star Wars in IMAX, the world’s biggest screen, it was pretty intense. Actually we’ve seen a lot of movies recently, Spectre, Creed and Point Break. Creed and Star Wars were probably the best ones, a good balance of emotion, story and action.

We’ve finally implemented our budget this year, we have our spreadsheet updated with all our expected expenses and Money Lover set up to track what we’re actually spending with our budget parameters set in the app to make sure we don’t go over, here’s to a year of saving and eating in!

I feel like I’m typing way too much now, so till next time friends!

Farewell,
Helen ♥

P.S. Yes that’s the boyfriend in the background playing Just Cause 3 whilst I blog away =P.

The Recovery

Argghhhh!!! I accidentally deleted 88 photos because I thought I had copied them over to my computer, luckily I stopped the delete process before it was too late, so my other 563 photos were saved, but still!!!! The first few photos were of the beginning of the night. I’ve gone through 4 different software publishers trying to recover the deleted photos. Fingers crossed one of them works =(.

I’m so disappointed in myself,  how could I do something so silly.

On a happier note, it’s Christmas YAY! I have to get up in a few hours for a jam packed day, looking forward to catching up with everyone =).

Merry Christmas to one and to all!!!
Hope you all have a lovely day with family and friends, and for those who don’t celebrate, may today still be a great day for you too!

Warm Christmas Wishes,
Helen ♥

MERRY 2013 CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day spending time with family and friends!

I’m super excited by the day and the upcoming festivities. Not to mentioned I’ve been super spoiled by my sexy boyfriend with Audio-Technica M50 headphones!!!

Haha already starting a headphone collection! He got the Sennheiser HD 280 Pro for me for my birthday last month but these glorious cans top those for different reasons though. I just love the warm (heavier) sounds and how they pick up the individual instruments beautifully . They’re fantastic! My mum says if I listen to my headphones to much I’ll become numb and bored by everyday sounds hehe.

Had a great last few days filled with BBQs, heat, sprinkling, modified beer pong, board games, karaoke, yum cha, internet cafes, late nights, catching up and AWESOME friends!

Oh I also need to start wearing reading glasses cause I’m olddddddd, and because I use the computer a lot. I’m 0.5+ in both eyes.

I should sleep! Otherwise Christmas will never come!

Season Greetings,

Just Before Sleep

Christmas has been great =).
I’ve been able to catch up with
family, friends and more;
and I wouldn’t be able to ask for anything better.

I got those results, three D’s and a C, yayyyyyyy =).
Still hoping for a HD one day XD.

I’m glad to see people back on the right track.
It breaks your heart to see someone progress backwards,
and lose the very essence of their spirit.
But seeing and hearing about all these changes for the better,
just from the positive influence of the people around them
is uplifting beyond words =)
.

Keep on truckin’,
Helen ♥

Christmas 1993

I just happened to find this video in my fileden account when I was looking for another video to post, I’ll post that video at a later date.
For now there’s this one to enjoy, a simple translation is provided underneath =]P.

Wendy’s Mum: Sucking on your thumb? Are you going to eat your toes too?
Helen: *Shakes head*
Wendy’s Mum: You’re not?
Helen: *Sucks on toes*
Wendy’s Mum: Whaaaa, you’ve gone crazy. What did you spit out?

Christmasss

Gahhhhh I hate it when you lose posts, cause that just happened to me.
Now I’m annoyed, and I was almost finished with the post too.
It’s like pouring out your thoughts only to find the person that you were talking to wasn’t listening at all.

In summary, Christmas week has been non-stop time spending with family and family friends, reduced sleeping hours, heaps of fun and foooooooooood =]P.
Have I ever mentioned garlic bread is awesome? Well it is!

Now to dot point summary:
– Made up for missing Billy’s birthday
– Backed the car into a wall XD, no one was hurt and the car is fine.
– Went to Dad’s christmas work dinner
– Lots of dinners and hanging out at family friends places
– Haha went to an optometrisst appointment an hour early =.=”.

But surprisingly this year didn’t feel as christmasy, maybe it was just commercially?
This was the first time in years that I didn’t send personalised christmas messages to everyone, and I don’t think I’ll be sending out new year messages either D=.
I’ve just lost it, the motivation and passion to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
It’s not that I don’t want to wish it, I don’t know it’s weird.
I’ll try to find it again in time for the new year and if I can’t, it’ll just have to be one of my new years’ resolution

In other news, I think I’m growing up a little.
Not too long ago, I would’ve ran away or forced a decision, but not this time.
On the train going home, I felt like I missed an opportunity,
I didn’t realise how much I missed you.

Rawrrrrrrr,
Helen ♥
